// About Chipyard

Started on a workbench, still run like one

We're a hardware store that never stopped thinking like the technicians who founded it.

Chipyard started in 2021 in the back room of a Utrecht repair shop, where the founders were already benchmarking every graphics card that came through the door before recommending it to a customer. Selling hardware the same way felt obvious: test it first, explain it plainly, stand behind it after.

Five years later we still run every GPU, prebuilt and storage drive through a bench test before it's packed — the same habit that started this whole thing. What's changed is scale: a 4,200-SKU catalog, a warehouse that ships across the Netherlands and the EU, and a small team of technicians who answer compatibility questions before you buy, not after.

We're not the biggest electronics retailer in the Netherlands, and that's on purpose. Every part that reaches our shelves has been chosen by someone who'd put it in their own machine.

// How we work

Three habits that haven't changed since day one

01

Test before we list it

No part goes up for sale without a bench test result attached to its listing.

02

Answer before we sell it

If you ask a compatibility question, a technician answers — not a script.

03

Stand behind it after

Warranty claims are handled by our own service desk in Utrecht, start to finish.
